Win Your Way Into Big Money Hold’em Tournaments
Written by admin on December 25, 2007 – 5:39 am -The subtitle of this book says it all: “How to Beat Casino & Online Satellite Poker Tournaments”. Satellites are tournaments with smaller buy-ins that give as prizes entries to tourneys with high buy-ins. After the story of Chris Moneymaker, who went from a $39 satellite to become the champion of the world series of poker main event, several players have tried the same route.
The authors Brad Dougherty & Tom McEvoy present on this book basic strategies for satellite tournaments. It looks like it was developed with the beginner player in mind, but the information is valuable for more experienced ones too. The book covers limit and no-limit poker, as well as live and internet events, although the section about online satellites is small.
Not “must read” in poker literature, but a valuable resource for new players looking for success on satellites.
