Daniel Negreanu (Kid Poker) needs no introduction. His resume includes four WSOP bracelets, two WPT championships, Player of the Year in 2004, and more than $10 million dollars in tournament winnings alone, showing that he is one of the best poker players in the world. He is also a Cardoza Publishing writer.

His book: Power Hold’em Strategy is a masterpiece of Texas Hold’em poker strategy, containing many helpful hand examples, and focusing in tournament no limit holdem. Sections deal with specific topics like heads-up games, short-handed tables and bluffing. Negreanu discusses what he calls the “small ball strategy”, and how it can be excellent against aggressive players.

The book also have good chapters written by young poker pros like Evelyn Ng, Todd Brunson, David Williams, Paul Wasicka and Erick Lindgren. These sections deal with specifics like online play, short-handed cash games, “mixing it up”, high limit cash games.

However, most of the book was written by Daniel Negreanu, with a writing style that will impress a lot of readers that didn’t like other poker books.

This 504 pages book is a must read for anyone interested in improving their no limit holdem tournament play. You can find this book on the Cardoza Bookstore.
